I have decided to talk about my journey in the world of film. This way it gives me something to talk about because honestly, I do run out of things to say quickly. However, if you ask me about what I have been through then you will get quite a story.

What got my interest in filmmaking were two things, Jurassic Park and the show Movie Magic. Jurassic Park was it for me because I loved dinosaurs to the max! I thought it was so cool bringing those creatures to life on the big screen and how real they looked. Around that same time which was early to mid 90’s I saw the show Movie Magic which was behind the scenes special fx of blockbuster films. As a young kid I was intrigued and kept watching this show and began to have an understanding of stop-motion animation and how to use a blue screen.

My brothers and I used my mom’s camera which was a big olvhs camcorder and started making fighting videos. But I was the youngest and they didn’t want to do what I wanted to film. I had a different type of idea for filming which was making videos with my toys. I wanted to do stop-motion with my legos. This was way before the lego studios came out with the Hollywood lego sets.

I went over my neighbors house and we used his dads camcorder instead. Now we started making our own sci-fi films and used real fire (which I don’t recommend for children). We had a blast and we were proud of what we made, too bad I don’t know what happened to those videos. Ever since then I wasnt able to watch movies the same because I knew how they were made. I didnt think I would become a filmmaker I thought that was just for people who get lucky.

Little did I know that this was the spark of something huge in the very beginning. If you stick around for future posts you’ll see how everything unfolded.
